The Senate has approved a bill to amend the Criminal Code. The vote has taken place in the plenary session on March 11 and only the PP has voted in favor. The project has received 430 amendments , 300 of them in the Congress of Deputies and 130 in the Senate. The penalty ” revisable permanent prison ” was rejected outright by all opposition parties .
The new Penal Code contains major changes, such as the abolition of offenses (misdemeanors ) , raising the minimum age of consent to 16 years ( now 13) and the criminalization of illegal party financing offense . Related article
